Week 1_Activity 1.2: APART BUT NEVER ALONE

⠀⠀Every night I continually wish that everything is just a dream, that one day I’m going to wake up from a bad dream knowing that the virus isn’t real and we aren’t currently experiencing lockdowns, quarantines and worse, death. As soon as I wake up and it’s bright and early, reality kicks in and that everything isn’t a dream. I am living in reality that equals to nightmare.

⠀⠀The pandemic didn’t just change my life, however it changed everyone’s. Sufferings are to be seen left and right yet even though we try to help, we still have a lot to do. Gatherings are cancelled and social distancing, wearing of mask and a face shield is the new thing. I am lonely as I don’t get to spend my summer as how I would during summer. I am devastated that I don’t get to go out and have fun under the sun with my acquaintances. Everything is new and adjusting to this new normal took a while.

⠀⠀Honestly, thank you to whoever invented Wi-Fi. My friends, other family members and I who may not be spending time physically, however we do, virtually. There are a lot of applications, sites, microblogging that we use in a day-to-day basis to communicate. Communicating virtually isn’t as effective, or in other words, preferable as it seems. I learned this quarantine that communicating to one individual takes a lot of effort as when you talk personally. Things may go sideways as the message you sent isn’t properly received or decoded– miscommunication. Miscommunication is something everyone including me tries to avoid as it gets messy and complicated as you don’t get to deliver the message how it should be delivered, received and decoded.
